Writer • Director • Graphic Novelist

Behzad Afshar-Naseri is an Iranian-American writer, director, and graphic novelist based in Stillwater, Minnesota. His work explores psychological trauma, memory, and cultural inheritance through atmospheric, character-driven storytelling. Whether on the page or on screen, his narratives center on the unseen forces that shape identity across generations.

Behzad is currently developing his psychological horror short film The Typewriter, a Stillwater-set story about legacy, surveillance logic, and the lingering echoes of authoritarian systems. Parallel to his film work, he is creating a graphic novel that explores themes of displacement, myth, and inner conflict. His projects are crafted for premiere consideration at Sundance, SXSW, and the Cannes Short Film Competition.
